Newcastle/Lake Macquarie Relay For Life

Remember our post about walking? Gear up people! It’s the ‘Relay for Life’ this time!
A fun event held overnight at a local oval where teams of 10 to 15 people take turns to walk/jog/run laps!

Taken from the Facebook page itself:

“The event honours those whose lives have been touched by cancer.
Celebrate life and create hope by joining your friends, family, cancer survivors and their carers in the common goal of defeating cancer.”

Go on down to show your support along with a group of mates! Make it a night to remember!

Throughout October 2011, it’s GIRLS NIGHT IN everyone! This year, the goal is $5,000,000 for women’s cancers.
Fund raising ideas include the likes of slumber parties, tea parties or anything related!
Take this as an excuse to throw together a rocking party for you and your gal pals!

NFW 2011 Front of House team - [Pt 3]

If you were there for NFW 2011, were you impressed with the facade and decor once you stepped into the venue? Did the impeccable straight rows of seats, spotless runway and numerous displays catch your eye?
These very things are the hard work of the Front of house team, where their main responsibility was to ensure that everything goes right for our guests.

  •  Front of house manager & volunteers
  •  Production team
  •  Volunteer Coordinator

*pictures used are from Runway 1 & Runway 2.

Meet our lovely front of house manager, Anna Buckingham (on the right), who was also doubling up as our sponsor coordinator! On the left is our director’s assistant, Sarah Lievore, who was pitching in whenever she could.

Front of house is very particular about positioning, appearance and professionalism of the entire set up of the fashion show.

You can see Jessica McAneney (in blue), our production manager, surveying the positioning of Ray (ain’t he cute :]) and fussing over the details.

Here’s a clearer picture of Jess, Anna & Hannah Bourke, our volunteer coordinator!

Hannah’s the go-to person for all volunteers if they had a problem. You should have seen her in action flying about the venue keeping tabs on everyone. Don’t they look stunning for NFW :)

Anyway, here’s what the venue looked like before the front of house team worked their magic:

Having a rehearsal while front of house was still setting up.

One of our gung-ho front of house volunteers vacuuming the runway carpets meticulously.

Soon, the entire place started to transform.

——————————————————————————

Great job right? Everybody was working so hard to spruce up the place before the event!

Lovely front of house volunteers!

Yes indeed! The first few people to greet you with their wide smiles are the front of house team!

And thanks to them, the venue was in tip-top condition when the show started.

Much love Front of house team!
Much love!

xoxo
